My dear friend Beth and I spent a beautiful day together yesterday. We met for some shopping and lunch. Connor tagged along - and he was a trooper! I know that he won't be in the stroller for much longer... so I take advantage of these days.
Beth always inspires me when it comes to the kitchen. She is my "foodie" friend. We have always loved to cook together - since college days as roomates in our little duplex. We talk about Food Network celebrities on a first name basis (Giada, Bobby, Rachel, etc.) She knows all the ins and outs of gourmet cooking. For my birthday she gave me a subscription to Bon Appetit. Whew! "Fancy !" as my dad would say. I love to cook - but Beth is more adventurous than me... She is an awesome cook and I know I can always get a great meal suggestion from her - and a cool new recipe. Not to mention, eating at her house is always a treat!
Yesterday as we meandered through Williams Sonoma she talked me into a recipe for Thanksgiving. That store is amazing - It is a feast for all your senses. They have an incredible marketing plan - They usually have several items for you to taste - This time it was Pumpkin Butter Spread, Cranberry Relish, Foccia Bread Stuffing, Butter Nut Squash Soup, and Cider - Is your mouth watering yet? And guess what - You can buy most of the ingredients for all those scrumptious things right there. Ah Ha! Smart - right? I left with the Pumpkin Butter - and i don't even really like pumpkin- but i had to have it after trying that appetizer! See.. genius marketing! Thanks for the fun day, B!
Our jaunt through Williams Sonoma made me even more ready for Thanksgiving. Dad, I can't wait to smell that turkey on Thursday!
